Our Ship Management is growing with new customers and to further strengthen our Planned Maintenance Systems group we are now searching for a FMS Manager for permanent employment. The position is full-time and is tied to the Stockholm office and requires, at times, travel to vessels and suppliers. We offer you the opportunity to work remotely to some extent.

Our planned maintenance (PMS) philosophy is built on centralized coordination and setup, and alignment of the system across sister vessels and fleets. The PMS also shares platform with other functions such as procurement and event reporting and all combines into our Fleet Management System (FMS).

We have FMS resources tied to both our Stockholm and Singapore offices and one of your tasks is to coordinate the joint work within the combined FMS team and cooperate with our IT-team. You will also interact closely with the vessels, as well as our technical and quality teams, and towards suppliers.

Part of the work is cooperation with other parts of the organization on systems integration and data usage, as well as being involved in projects and the day-to-day activities within the Ship Management department. To cross interact in-between disciplines is encouraged.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Plan and coordinate the FMS teams’ verification and update of maintenance schemes, to reflect the latest maker recommendations and company policies.
  • Lead the FMS work and coordinate the teams to ensure high-quality support to the shore and vessel users.
  • Support the organization to succeed with our planned maintenance strategy and be central in developing it further. Actively shape and align the FMS, within the fleet and in-between sister vessels.
  • Plan and coordinate the FMS setup for new additions to the fleet, which may include transfers from other platforms.
  • Supports the organization in preparing and maintaining FMS related training courses and ensures relevant user guidelines and instructions.
  • Monitor and manage related software/service agreements and follows up on delivered quality.
  • Stay abreast of rules, regulations, and development within your area of responsibility.
  • You will also be expected to participate in or support other internal projects, within your field of expertise.

Who are you?

We are looking for a candidate holding a bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or similar. Onboard experience from Car Carriers, RoRo vessels or similar is helpful, but not an absolute requirement. This is a cross-discipline function so other related backgrounds may also be of interest.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have effective communication skills and to be able to work independently as well as part of a team, interacting with team members both in Sweden and in Singapore, as well as with the vessels in the worldwide operating fleet. Our Group language is English which means that you should speak and write English fluently, including technical terms. High level of proficiency in Swedish is also a merit. We also require a good understanding and knowledge of Microsoft365 and preferably familiarity with SQL select statements. Our primary PMS platform is BASSnet.
