Företag: Svitzer

Towage Operator

Svitzer is the leading marine towage operator in Scandinavia and for the right candidate we offer a challenging opportunity to join a winning team in maintaining this position. By working closely with our clients you will enable us to continue to earn their business every single day.

We Offer

For our Scandinavian head office, situated at Nya Varvet in Gothenburg, we need to recruit an additional towage operator to strengthen the heart of our business.
The position is placed within our Operations department and the successful candidate will be responsible for the daily planning of all our towage operations and activities.

Key Responsibilities

The position as a towage operator involves receiving orders for towage, overall fleet planning of towage resources, dispatching tugs, collecting, managing and forwarding information in an ever changing and sometimes stressful environment.
Our tugs operate all day, every day, so the job entails some shift work and attractive non-office hours as a single operator.
A well-developed ability and capacity for multi-tasking and taking decisions independently is a prerequisite for this position, though there will be ongoing interaction with customers, port agents, crew and colleagues from other departments and regions.

Who we are looking for

You have experience and/or a degree from the maritime industry, for example nautical, seagoing, chartering, port- or agency operations. If you have worked at sea, that is a distinct advantage. A strong sense for service-mindedness, ease in communicating through all levels in an organization and ability to build sustainable working relationships is a must.
In order to succeed in this role you need to be fluent in Swedish, Danish or Norwegian and have an excellent command of verbal and written English.

Solid computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. An ability to maintain an analytical and accurate manner, even under challenging circumstances, will be important for your success in this rewarding role.

Applicants will be reviewed, assessed and interviewed continuously. For questions, please contact Kaj Kalsson, Manager Operations at +46 (31) 10 97 00 or HR, Johan Gratschew at: +46 761 26 33 65
