Floatel International AB is a Swedish company in the offshore oil and gas industry. We manage three accommodation vessels in operation, one in Norway, one in Brazil and one in Gulf of Mexico. We also have two new buildings at Keppel FELS shipyard in Singapore.
Floatel International AB is looking to employ one Technical Superintendent to Floatel International AB in Gothenburg, Sweden. The Superintendent is responsible for the supervision of technical support, repair and maintenance in order to ensure that the vessel is kept in good condition in accordance with company standards. The Superintendent is also responsible for the budget for this work. The duties are to assist the Rig Manager in all operational activities regarding the class, national authorities, technical issues, maintenance systems and other relevant matters in the field of operation. The duties will also involve being Project Manager for minor conversion work on the vessel.
The person employed to this position will be required to travel frequently in order to support the operation of the project.
Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for the onshore technical support to the vessel, with special attention to technical performance, repair and maintenance
- Managing inspection and other review work of his/her discipline, and liase with the Rig Manager to ensure that the highest standards of quality, safety and operational efficiency are uphelp across the fleet
- Responsible for minor conversion, repair and maintenance work including budget
- Ensure that Class reviews and controls are done on timely manner and are up to date
- Ensure that all Class and other technical certification are valid
- Partcipation in the preparation of the rig annual repair and maintenance budget and supporting the Rig Manager in the cost follow up and forecasting procedure
- Support the purchase department in selection and evaluation of subcontracors vendors. Provide approval and control of marine related purchases and procurement
- Support the Technical Manager and Chief Engineer in operational matters
- Assist the operation department in technical issues
- Attending on board during audits, vessel inspection and projects elsewhere when required
- Responsible for monthly KPI reporting related to repair and maintenance
Special duties
The Technical Superintendent is a member of the emergency response organisation
Education/Training
Engineering degree in Marine Engineering (BSc or MSc or equivalent). Basic Safety, Emergency response preparedness training and relevant education depending on area of operation
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience from being Technical Superintendent or similar (Offshore vessels, drilling rigs, production or accommodation vessels)
- Minimum 5 years experience from onshore Ship/Rig management level in leading position
