We are now looking for a Stowage Planner / Travelling Supercargo to join the team at Wallenius Wilhelmsen in Stockholm.
Role description:
- Ensure best utilization of vessel space and operation time by attending loading port as cargo superintendent. Travelling within Europe is expected based on trade demands.
- You will be given individual operational and stowage planning responsibility for dedicated vessels during full loading voyage within our region.
Responsibilities:
- Drive efficiency, maximize utilization of vessel in the most cost-efficient way.
- Vessel stowage planning.
- Supervise and coordinate the voyage operation with the trade team.
- Onboard supervision of cargo operation and lead subcontractors to ensure compliance with WalWil requirements.
- Monitor and maintain WalWil standards and procedures for cargo handling and quality.
- Equipment / securing calculation/ approval for heavy / awkward and break-bulk cargo loading.
Requirements:
- Experience from Ro-Ro/PCTC vessels and preferably a degree of maritime school, or equal experience.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Able to challenge the status quo and support a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Able to work independently as well as being part of a team.
- Able to prioritize workflow to meet deadlines and have a sense of urgency.
- IT computer competence (office programs), preferably experience in digital loading program and lashing / cargo carrier calculations.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Valid driving license and ability to travel in the region Europe by all transport.
