Role description
As a technical support engineer, you will be responsible for support together with your colleagues in the department, focusing on automation, modernization and upgrades. You will first and foremost have contact with MacGregor’s staff and partners around the world which in turn works with the company’s global customers. You will also work closely with the sales, support and purchasing departments in Gothenburg. This role also includes responsibility for maintaining MacGregor’s database and archive for technical backgrounds and drawings.
The role is located at the office in Gothenburg, but travel can occur to a limited extent, mainly to Scandinavian customers. The requested support includes helping with troubleshooting and inspection, developing manuals and drawings, finding replacement products, and suggesting solutions for rebuilding together with the sales department. It is also desirable that you can perform simpler PLC programming and upgrade existing systems.
Qualifications
We believe that you have a technical background and work experience from similar roles in the marine sector. An example could be as an automation engineer where you have worked for a few years with electrical engineering and / or control and control systems. We prefer that you have a relevant university education to stand on, although a solid and relevant experience weighs heavily.
It is meritorious if you have knowledge within;
• Electrical engineering and automation
• PLC programming (PC-Works or PL7)
• CAD (E3 or El-Pro Cad)
• Hydraulic control
• Industrial networks
