Design Manager – Machinery systems

To further strengthen our organization we are now looking for a Design manager responsible for Machinery systems to join the Ship Design, Newbuilding & Innovation department. 

About the position
In this position you will be the lead design specialist for propulsion and related machinery systems including different types of fuel and energy storage. You will be responsible for initial design and configuration studies, requirements specifications, supplier contacts and plan approval related to the newbuilding of vessels or innovative development projects. The specialist role also includes other machinery systems such as auxiliary power generation and HVAC. The position is primarily based in Stockholm and extensive travelling may be required from time to time. 

Who are you?
Suitable background is at least a B.Sc degree with extensive experience from roles in the shipping industry such as technical consultancy, shipbuilding, class, or from maker’s side. You need to be a good team player with an analytical and creative mindset paired with a high interest for the marine industry and its challenges in connection with the shift to true sustainability. You also need to have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and preferably also in Swedish.
