For the vessels managed by us we are looking at next opportunity for a

 1st Engineer/relieving Chief Engineer

The Chief Engineer is responsible for the technical operation of the entire ship, has personnel responsibility for the engine department and is part of the ship’s management team. As the 1st Chief Engineer you are responsible for the engine crew on board and you are responsible for the planning and maintenance of the engine department. On-call duty may be included in this position and you will report continuously to the Technical Engineer. Both positions involve planning, organizing, coordinating, and supervising.

Knowledge and experience in all areas of ship operation technology matters, operational safety, ship´s security, adherence to the timetable and compliance with environmental requirements.

Profile of Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience in all areas of ship operation technology
  • Several years of experience as a Engineer ideally gained on Ro-Ro passenger ships or comparable Ro-Ro ships
  • Good communicator and leadership skills
  • High level of service, discretion, assertiveness, commitment, flexibility, and team spirit
  • Economical / commercial skills
  • High competence, safety & security awareness
  • In-depth knowledge of ship safety, ISM Code and ISPS
  • Knowledge of national and international safety regulations
  • Independent and self-reliant action
  • The will to act as a role model and to accept a representative function
  • Very good knowledge of the English and/or Swedish language (written and spoken).
  • Confident handling of the usual means of communication as well as in-depth knowledge of IT standard software (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook) and of purchase and maintenance programs
  • All valid certificates required by the STCW-Code, IGF advanced certificate advantageous
