Maritime Technical Coordinator

PGS is looking for a Maritime Technical Coordinator / Project Manager in our Maritime Department. In this position you will be responsible for managing yard-stays and coordinating maritime equipment. Additionally, you will be responsible for the introduction, upgrade and design of selected maritime equipment, as well as assisting the organization with maritime technical issues and knowledge to help ensure PGS is an industry leader in Maritime HSEQ performance.

Responsibilities:

Plan and manage yard-stays as a project manager.
Provide technical support to the organization with main focus on effective and optimal performance of the fleet.
Lead assigned maritime technical projects to ensure they adhere to a high standard and are delivered on time.
Participate in development and execution of maintenance strategies at sea, yard stays and pit-stops.
Lead implementation of new maritime technologies, including their documentation and training.
Support Maritime Manager to ensure fleet compliance to relevant mandatory technical rules and regulations.
Support Management to maintain budgets and service contracts.
Although the job is based in Oslo there is travel involved for yard-stays all over the world.

Qualifications:

Master of Science, preferably in Electrical, Marine, Naval Architecture or Machinery.
Min. five years’ relevant experience from ship operation.

Competencies:

Excellent project management skills.
In-depth understanding of onboard technical systems and class certification regime.
Excellent understanding of risk management, HSEQ and financial risk issues and concepts.
Proven ability to work with groups to achieve common goals and results.
Working understanding of ISM, ISO, ISPS concepts.
Good listener and able to consider new ideas.
Skilled in making decisions, working under pressure and planning ahead.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
