Nordisk Skibsrederforening, also known as Nordisk, is a mutual freight, demurrage and defence (FDD) club that provides legal advice, assistance and protection to its members being ship owners and operators. Nordisk has a total of 35 employees with offices in Oslo and Singapore. At the end of 2017, 2,550 vessels were entered with Nordisk by its 190 members.
The current Managing Director has resigned to pursue challenges outside of Nordisk and we are seeking his successor.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Managing Director is responsible for leading the development and execution of Nordisk’s objective, which is to provide advice and assistance to the association’s members in connection with questions of a maritime legal nature. The Managing Director is ultimately responsible for all dayto-day management of Nordisk. The successful candidate is anticipated to maintain a suite of own cases, manage and guide colleagues with their cases and to fulfil the required management functions of the Association.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Law degree
- Qualification to practice (solicitor/advokat or similar)
- Broad experience within maritime law with emphasis on FDD issues
The candidate should also demonstrate the following competencies:
- Analytical, structured and commercially oriented
- Team player and team oriented, with an attitude to lead by example
