Key responsibilities

As the position holder you will be responsible for securing and providing efficient and flexible shipping capacity at competitive prices, both short and long term. This will entail actively working within the chartering market in order to ensure that the shipping cost within the Nynas Group is maintained at the lowest optimal level under the shipping policy.

You will be working with the following parties: 

  • External – Ship Owners, Ship Managers, Brokers, Agents, Inspectors, Oil Companies, Crude Suppliers, Bunker Suppliers and Charterers.
  • Internal – Crude, Bitumen, Naphthenics, Distillate & Fuel Planners and Refineries.

You will be chartering and operating seagoing vessels for the transportation of Nynas products on a worldwide basis. Chartering will be done on the basis of Time Charters, COA and Spot Voyages and will be negotiated with Owners and Brokers.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for:

  • The handling and negotiation of demurrage and quantity claims.
  • Monthly reporting of performance, KPI’s and highlights/lowlights within your area of responsibility.
  • Market research of the various shipping lanes and general shipping market.

Candidate profile

The successful candidate has an Academic degree in Science, Engineering or equivalent Logistics related education. You should be experienced within the shipping industry and chartering/operations in particular. Fluency in English is required and Swedish would be advantageous. Good knowledge of IT is required. You should have knowledge and understanding of planning concepts/issues and logistic issues.

You will be working with a team self-driven and experienced charterers in Nyship Chartering, that operate 6 vessels and charter in tonnage for Nynas’ Crude Oil, Naphthenic, Bitumen and fuel products world-wide. This position is located in Stockholm and it reports to the Chartering Manager.
